A mood-board is a great way to set the visual direction for a new fashion project. It’s an effective way to communicate your ideas quickly with images, texts, fabric type. Our mood board will enable you to see and feel and put you in the ambiance that your design going to produce.

* DISCOVERY SESSION : UNDERSTANDING THE DESIGN PROCESS

This 30 minute session will guide you through the process of design and sampling your garment. Our team will walk you through the process. What you need to provide us with is to make your design come to life, on a one on one video call.

You will understand the whole journey of your design, from the idea in your head to having the true sample in your hands.

* FASHION DESIGN CONSULTATION:

You join a personal video call with one of our design team members. Essential for new and emerging designers, making decisions from fabrics to trim, building a range, we have got you covered. Our team of designers will guide you through a step by step process of how to move forward with your garment design.

What you will be able to do after this service:

You will have a clear idea of what is possible or impposible to do in your design, and how to improve your design before we move to the next process.

* FASHION ILLUSTRATION (SKETCH DESIGN):

Fashion Illustration (Sketch Design) captures the essence of your design. It is the interpretation of your idea, the essence of your design proportions and basic outline. Sketches are the best way to communicate your design for the first time. Your final fashion sketch will be the illustration that becomes your digital image.

What you will be able to do after this service:

You will be able to communicate your design through your freehand sketches. Our team will let you know what are the important details that you need to have in your sketches.

* DIGITAL AND FLAT DESIGN:

After your Fashion Illustration is complete, your designer will need to do a digital design and a flat design. The designer will finalize your raw sketches into digital design, with pantone colors from your mood-board so you will be able to see how your design looks like in the colors that you choose. Once the digital design is approved, the designer will create a flat design. Flat design is digital technical drawing which illustrates your garment in a two dimensional illustration. This is the image that will be the basis of your tech pack. Your flat will consist of back view, front view, measurements and a close up of any specific details your design has. The pattern maker will use this flat to create your pattern so it’s important to get it right!

What you will be able to get after this service:

• A digital design where you finalize the colors of your design, and an illustration of how your design will fall and flow on the body.
• A flat design that is ready to be put in your spec sheet. SPEC

* SPEC SHEET DESIGN / TECH PACK CONSULTATION AND DEVELOPMENT:

In this consultation we will work with you to prepare all the information needed for spec sheet/ tech pack development including measurements, trim selection, sourcing and pictures of designs. Your spec sheet/tech pack is the blueprint for your design. This is the document that the designer will use to communicate with the factory. It contains everything that is necessary to create your product. Your Spec will contain all measurements, colors or prints, fabric, label positioning, tag choice and more. The spec is crucial in the manufacturing process, and essential in every design. Each design will have its own specification sheet, the more detailed the sheet the more likely you will get your exact design.

What you will be able to do after this service:

You will be able to describe your design in details through specification forms that will be used in production.

* FABRIC SELECTION: CONSULTATION, SOURCING AND SUPPORT

Whether you are a new or emerging designer, fabric selection is a myriad of options and decisions. Our fabric selection consultation walks you through the process, cuts our selections that will not suit your design and gives you options that suit your style. We will also help you to understand estimated pricing for fabric that will be used to calculate your production costs.

* TRIM SELECTION: CONSULTATION, SOURCING AND SUPPORT

With our long history of working with fashion labels all over the world we can source the exact trim to suit your designs. Working with our team to select the trimming, will save a lot of time when you enter production.

Introduction to available trim options and trim selections that suit your design and budget.

* FABRIC SWATCH PACK

We will provide you a 3 pack of swatch cards with your chosen fabrics shipped to you in your home country for review and final selection . What you will be able to get after this service: Fabric swatches that match your design & budget.

* MANUFACTURING STRATEGY SESSION

First time working with a factory? Not sure what to expect? This is where you start. Your factory or manufacturer teams need to know about your design inspiration, your fabric choices, and your mood board in order to create the best garment that reassamble your design. This session walks you through the process of working with your factory, the steps you need to go through on your manufacturing journey.

What you will be able to do after this service:

You will be able to prepare your design material checklist before going through production. You will know what to expect in the process.

* ARTWORK CONSULTATION AND SUPPORT

We assist you to work out the best way to incorporate your artwork into your design, either via digital printing, screen printing, or embroidery. This session also helps us understand your vision for the brand.

What you will be able to get after this service:

Full assistance on the artwork method of your choice that fits your design and budget.

* PATTERN MAKING

Pattern making is an art form and requires a high level of skills and technical expertise, knowledge, experience and accuracy. Our pattern maker is an industry expert, he has decades of experience and knowledge above and beyond anyone in Bali. Our head pattern maker will work with his team to create a pattern that is precise to your tech pack so it is ready to trace onto your chosen fabrics.

What you will be able to do after this service:

A ready to use pattern of your own design in your chosen size or measurements.

* FINISHED DESIGN SAMPLE: TOILE (MUSLIN)

Once your pattern is made it will then need to be cut out and made by a sample machinist. Every garment in our factory is made by hand. Created precisely from your custom specification sheet and pattern. Once we agree the toile sample is perfect for your design the package is complete however don’t forget you can then proceed to order a true sample and carry out a small run manufacturing process with S&F Garment Manufacturing under new production quotes, terms and conditions. What you will be able to do after this service: A real size sample of your design in a measurement of your choice.

* RANGE PLAN CONSULTATION

For our Emerging Designer Gold Package clients, we are offering you range plan consultation as add- on. If you are thinking about expanding your design collection, we will help guiding you through your range, how to keep the connection of the whole range as a collection, what is the brand story, what is the fabric range for the whole designs, etc. As an emerging designer, it is important to learn about the range plan because once you are ready to go, you will be designing more than one design for the collection.

* GRADING

Sizing your pattern from sample to production sizes, we can grade your pattern from larger or smaller sizes. The purpose of grading is to proportionally increase or decrease the size of the sample pattern. Our team of graders are incredibly skilled and experienced in grading your pattern/s. 3 consecutive sizes are included in your grading. Additional sizes will be an additional grading fee.

3 sizes of your design in patterns that are ready for production.

* PACKAGING & LABEL CONSULTATION, SOURCING AND SUPPORT

Let us assist you with choosing packaging and labels that suits your brand. Before ordering labels or tags you want to be 100% sure of your decisions. Standard or custom? Large or small? Print type... the list goes on. Our team will recommend the perfect choice for your designs. We can give you time frames and MOQs, that saves you time and money. Also to note, we provide sustainable cassava based packaging as standard for our clients!

* TRUE SAMPLE ( PRODUCTION READY )

At this stage, you have already approved your Toile Muslin and choose your real fabric. Our production will produce your true sample where you can see what the real end product will look like. This true sample will be our guide to mass produce your design.

What you will be able to get after this service:

Your true sample from your very own design! This is the final step before you get into your production.

True Sample Timeline

* ACCESS TO RUN SMALL MANUFACTURING

At S&F our minimum order quantity for production is 50 pieces per style and 250 units in total for adult wear and 100 units per style and 500 units in total for childrens wear. For our Emerging Designer Platinum Package clients however we are working with you to provide a pathway to further production and all who purchase this package will have access to undertake a small run production with the following minimum order quantities: 25 pieces per style Manufacturing is a new order and will require you to approve a quote and order docket and make the requirement payment to commence production.
